Protein without the whey

Modern Savage

Almost every protein powder on the shelf is whey. There is nothing wrong with whey for people who get on with it, but a lot of us do not, and a lot of us have children who do not, and it seemed odd to build something around the whole animal and then reach for a dairy by-product for the protein.

So the protein in Modern Savage comes from beef. Beef protein isolate, 5,000mg in every scoop, around 97% pure protein with every one of the amino acids the body cannot make for itself, and no lactose, casein or dairy anywhere in it. It is the protein you would get from the meat, with the water and the fat taken out.

It is a separate thing from the liver. People sometimes ask. The organ blend is the organs; this is the muscle, there to do the ordinary job protein does. Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass, and we believe most of us get far too little of it in the morning, which is why the mid-morning biscuit turns up at all. Five grams in the scoop is a head start on that, not the whole answer. Eggs are still the whole answer.

It also is not soy, pea or rice, which is where most dairy-free powders end up. Those are fine crops, but this whole thing is built around the animal and we kept it that way.
