What modern life buried
Modern Savage
Our great-grandparents did not have a wellness industry, or a fitness tracker, or a nutritionist. They had daylight, hard work, food that came off a farm, and something to believe in when the night got long, and they had clear heads because of it. In about three generations we have engineered nearly all of that out of an ordinary week, and then wondered why we feel tired in a way that sleep does not fix.
None of this is a mystery, and for most of us it is not a medical problem either. The body already knows how to be well. It has just not been asked properly for a while. It expects light in the morning, cold and heat, a load to lift, food that grew or grazed, people around a table, and it has been given a screen, a radiator, a desk, a packet and a phone.
Bear's line is that the way back is nature rather than a clinic or an app or another January, and that is the whole idea behind everything we make and everything we will ever tell you. The first hour of tomorrow morning is yours. Start there.
